மாத்தளை மனிதப் புதைகுழியிலிருந்து கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட எலும்புக்கூடுகளை ஆராய்ந்ததில், இறந்தவர்கள் மரணமடைவதற்கு முன் சித்திரவதைக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர் என்று குருநாகலை சட்ட வைத்திய அதிகாரியினால் நீதிமன்றத்தில் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என அதிர்வு இணையம் அறிகிறது. சம்பந்தப்பட்ட புதைகுழியிலிருந்து 153 மண்டை ஓடுகள் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததாகவும், அவற்றில் சில மண்டையோட்டுக்களுக்குள் இரும்பு ஆணிகள் இருந்ததாகவும் சட்ட வைத்திய நிபுணரின் அறிக்கையில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது என காணாமல்போனோர் சார்பில் மன்றில் ஆஜரான வழக்கறிஞர் சுனில் வடகள தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
