Tamil nation remembers Mullivaikal massacre

Dear Friends,
This is the time for the Tamils to remember the dead cadres, who laid down their lives so that the other Tamils may live, The remaining Tamils were tortured, raped and killed. The date, 18 May will remain in the mental psychic of every Tamil in every nook and corner of the earth and keep the flame of liberation alive.
In this article below, Mr.M.K.Sivajilingam together with a group of ardent Tamils are paying their respect to the dead below. This, like the Armenian Genocide, will go on for centuries to come, whether the Sinhalese like it or not.

In commemorative events across the North-East and the world, the Tamil nation marked 6 years since the massacre of tens of thousands at the end of the armed conflict on May 18th 2009.
present Northern Provincial Council member M. K. Sivajilingam together with a group of people have held a Remembrance events took place yesterday (12) in memory of tens of thousands who died in the war, at Mullivaikkal in Mullaitivu in 2009 in the final war.
Residents of Mullaitivu said that the commemoration function was held on the beach close to where the Fara 03 ship was anchored.
A group of NPC members of the Northern Provincial Council T. Ravikaran, Antony
Jeganathan and former member of the Northern Provincial Council Mary Kamala Gunaseelan, Pradeshiya Sabha representatives of Jaffna, Valikamam and Velvettiturai had conducted the LTTE commemorative function, according to Mullaitivu residents.
Northern Provincial Council member M. K. Sivajilingam speaking at the event said that the Tamil people have made arrangements to commemorate their relatives who died in the war, during the period from 12 to 18 May.
He also said that he and the rest of the group have the right to commemorate their relatives who died in the war.

In an inquiry made from Northern Provincial Council member Anton Jeganathan regarding this commemorative function, he said that a function in memory of relatives who died in the war with the lighting of lamps was held in the area where the Fara 03 ship was located in Vellamullivaikkal.
It is deeply regrettable that six years after the armed conflict in Sri Lanka concluded, justice and accountability for the conduct of the war has still not been realised.
We hope that the inquiry, by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), will provide the opportunity to investigate credibly the allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Sri Lanka.
