In Asom (Assam) state’s Kokrajhar district, a bloody riot broke out week back. 58 people have died, 100s are injured, over 4,00,000 have fled to save lives, after their homes schools being set afire or destroyed. Nearly two dozen trains have been stopped or attacked. More than 2 lakh Bodo Hindus are put up in relief camps with out even medical facilities. But with a view on the elections the Central Government has taken no efforts to expel the Bangladeshi infiltrators who are the root cause of the riots. The so called secularists who were shouting from the roof tops during the Gujarat Riots are inconspicuous by their silence in the present context. The Bangla infiltrators are targeting to occupy Asom (Assam) in the same way as the Kashmiri militants with their sophisticated weapons brought from across the border.
Hindu
Janajagruti Samiti severely opposes this attack on Bodo Hindus and is
organizing protests in various parts of the State and the Country
along with like minded organizations. As part of the protest the
Samiti held a protest in front of Town Hall at Bangalore on the 31st
of July 2012 at 11.45 AM. The Samiti has put forth the following
demands during the protest.
- The Bangla infiltrators have to be expelled immediately from the country.
- A high level committee comprising of Retired Military officers and Judges have to be formed.
- Bodo Hindus have to be resettled in their original villages only and suitable compensation has to be given.
- Proper high security fencing has to be put up at the Bangladesh border.
Memorandum was submitted to
Governor of Karnataka at the end of the protest.
